We hunt in Units 7 and 10 for deer. For mule deer, hunters often start by glassing from a high vantage point to methodically scan vast, thick mountainsides and some flats where these deer prefer to bed. Once a target is located, a strategic stalk is planned using terrain features and wind direction to remain undetected. In contrast, for white-tailed deer, hunters often focus on stalking along the edges of timbered areas, clear-cuts, and creek bottoms, relying on slow, silent movement to surprise a deer that is moving to or from its bedding area. We take you into the back country either by walk-in, horse, or UTV. It all depends on where we've scouted and seen the deer. It's an adventure and can be rewarding in the end!
